You will arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA). A representative from Snowland Treks & Expedition will be at the airport to welcome you, and he will take you to your hotel. You will be given a short brief about the trip and you will have the opportunity to purchase trekking equipment if required.
Island Peak Climbing 16-days Itinerary

Day 01 Arrival at Kathmandu Airport

Day 02 Kathmandu – Lukla – Phakding (2,610 m)
You will fly to Lukla today. The flight will be short and provide astonishing views of the Himalayan mountains. Upon reaching Lukla, you will descend along a forested trail and pass by small villages to reach Phakding.

Day 03 Phakding – Namche Bazaar (3,440 m)
You will begin trekking gradually through several villages and a beautiful pine forest. You will reach Jorsale (2,800 m), and from here, you will trek to reach the Dudh Koshi River. Further climbing on a steep trail will bring you to Namche Bazaar. You will see gorgeous views of Mt. Everest (8,848 m), Mt. Lhotse (8,516 m), and Mt. Nuptse (7,861 9m) from here.

Day 04 Namche Bazaar – Khumjung Valley Excursion (3,790 m)
It is your rest day at Namche Bazar to acclimatize your body to the increased altitude. You can spend the day exploring the village and the surrounding area. You can go on a short excursion to the Everest View Hotel from where you can see wonderful views of snowcapped mountains. Later, you will descend to Namche Bazar and visit the Sherpa Culture Museum and Everest Photo Gallery.

Day 05 Namche Bazaar – Tengboche (3,860 m)
You will descend and pass through several beautiful villages and a pine forest to reach Phunki Thanga. From here, you will climb steeply towards Tengboche. After reaching Tengboche, you will visit the Tengboche Monastery, which is one of the main monasteries of this region.

Day 06 Tengboche – Pheriche (4,270 m)
You will begin trekking by gradually descending through a steep and muddy section until you cross a suspension bridge. After that, you will ascend to Pheriche and pass through the small villages and conifer, rhododendron, and birch forest until you reach Pheriche.

Day 07 Pheriche – Lobuche (4,910 m)
Today's trek will lead you to Dugla (4,620m). From there, you will climb uphill for around two hours and further, walk on a flat path to reach Lobuche.

Day 08 Lobuche – Gorak shep- Everest Base Camp (5,364 m)
You will have several ascents and descents before you reach Gorak Shep. Gorak Shep is located below the summit of Mt. Pumori (7,161 m). After reaching Gorak Shep, you will trek to Everest Base Camp (5,400 m). You will hike along the Khumbu glacier from where you can see amazing blue ice and the Khumbu Icefall. After spending some time at EBC, you will return to Gorak Shep.

Day 09 Gorak Shep – (Kalapathar)- Dingboche (4,410 m)
Today, you will ascend to Kala Pathar (5,545 m) for spectacular 360-degree panoramic views of Mt. Everest (8,848 m), Mt. Nuptse (7,861 m), Mt. Lhotse (8,516 m), Mt.Pumori (7,161 m), Mt.Ama Dablam (6,812 m), Mt.Kantega (6,782 m), and Mt.Thamserku (6,623 m). Later, you will descend to Dingboche.

Day 10 Dingboche – Chhukung (4,700 m)
You will ascend to Chukung (4,700 m) for a 360-degree view of the Himalayas. Chukung is also the gateway for the Island Peak Expedition. You can also go on a day trip to glaciers or the Imjatse Valley.

Day 11 Chukung – Island Peak Base Camp (5,087 m)
Today, the trail will ascend steeply towards the south then turn east to the main line of the valley. You will trek along a stream and view the route to the Amphu Lapcha in the southeast. You will pass along a zig zag route through the moraines of the Imja and Lhotse glaciers and eventuaklly arrive in a wide valley on the South West side of Island Peak.

Day 12 Island Peak Base Camp- High Camp (5,500 m)
You will ascend to the high camp. The trail is challenging and passes along a steep rocky path. You will see gorgeous views of the Imja glacier and lake along the way. After trekking for three hours, you will reach High Camp.

Day 13 Island Peak Summit (6,189 m) and Return to Chukung
You will wake up very early today, and begin your trek towards Island Peak (6,189 m). The trail will not be so strenuous, but passes through several steep rocky sections. You will then trek along the ridge line that will take you to the summit glacier. You will use a rope for assistance to reach the summit of Island Peak (6,189 m). You will then return to Chukung.

Day 14 Chukung – Namche ( 3,440 m)
You will descend through dwarf junipers and pass by beautiful Mani walls. You will then cross Imja Khola and ascend to Pangboche. You will visit Pangboche Gompa, which is one of the oldest Gompas in the Khumbu Region. The trail then returns to Namche Bazaar via a steep descent and the Hillary Suspension Bridge.

Day 15 Namche – Lukla (2,840 m)
With the last view of the world's highest mountains, you will leave Namche Bazaar to trek back to Lukla. Trekking on the same route, you will reach Lukla and the remainder of the day is free to rest or explore the nearby area.

Day 16 Lukla – Kathmandu
After breakfast, you will take a short scenic flight back to Kathmandu. After reaching Kathmandu, you will be taken to the hotel. The rest of the day is free for you to relax. In the evening, you will join the farewell dinner organized by the company.
